Reglazing
Bathtub reglazing , tile reglazing and countertop refinishing is the process of applying a high gloss polyurethane coating to tubs, tile, sinks, showers and countertops to restore a factory like finish.
When tubs, showers and sinks start to show their age, owners are often tempted to replace them altogether. But with skilled, professional bathtub refinishing, tile refinishing or countertop refinishing services, you can save up to 70% of the cost of replacement and have your tub, tile or sink looking like new again!
AB Ceramic Tile Regrout and Reglaze Systems uses only high quality polyurethanes and adhesive epoxies which will ensure a finish that will last for years. We are so confident that our process is of the best we offer a 5 year warranty against peeling and flaking.
The Reglazing Process
The process is quite simple. The key aspect of the reglazing process is preparation. In order for the material to adhere properly, the surface must be fully prepared before the finish is applied. This means we must first thoroughly clean the surface to be refinished then etch the surface with an acid so that the primer has something to adhere to. When we are finished etching we wipe down the surface with a solvent to ensure there are no traces of contaminants which would cause the finish to fail. We then mask off surrounding areas to ensure that there is no overspray damage.
Next, we apply an epoxy primer to all surfaces to be relazed. This is also key to performance. By cross linking the primer to the etched surface and the urethane to the primer we ensure a finish that will last for years. Next, we apply the finish.
For the final touch, we caulk any areas that need caulking.

Under normal circumstances, your tub, tile or sink can be used in 72 hours and they will look like new again saving you hundreds of dollars in repacement costs. If you have any questions or wish to schedule an estimate, please contact us.
